About Early Intervention Play

Support rooted in experience, trust, and a deep commitment to helping children thrive

Early Intervention Play is built on the belief that children grow best when they feel safe, supported, and understood, and when families feel guided with care every step of the way.

Early Intervention Play is led by Lucy, who brings more than 32 years of experience supporting children and families across the most important stages of development. Her work began with a deep commitment to helping children build strong foundations early in life, and that commitment grew into a lifelong calling centered on connection, growth, and family support.

Lucy first opened her own childcare program, which expanded into a full educational setting serving infants through school-age children. Through those years of hands-on work, she developed a strong understanding of how children learn, how families need support, and how meaningful progress happens when care is thoughtful, developmentally informed, and deeply compassionate.

Today, Early Intervention Play reflects that same foundation. Guided by Lucy’s leadership, the practice offers warm, personalized support for children and families while honoring each child’s unique path of growth. As a bilingual provider in English and Spanish, Lucy is also committed to making care feel accessible, respectful, and meaningful for the diverse communities she serves.

Our Approach

How we support growth, connection, and confidence

At Early Intervention Play, support is centered on the whole child and the whole family. Our work is grounded in developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices while also honoring the emotional connection, intuition, and lived experiences that shape each family’s journey.

1

Relationship-centered care

Meaningful growth begins in safe, connected relationships. We take time to build trust with children and families so support feels warm, respectful, and emotionally grounded from the very beginning.

2

Play-based and development-focused

Play is not separate from learning. It is one of the most important ways children communicate, explore, regulate, and grow. Our approach uses play intentionally to support language, social-emotional development, confidence, and everyday functioning.

3

Parent partnership and guidance

Families are an essential part of the process. We work closely with parents to provide practical strategies, encouragement, and support that can be carried naturally into routines at home and in everyday life.

Who We Help

Support tailored to your child’s stage and needs

Early Intervention Play supports children and families across different ages and developmental stages with care that is personalized, thoughtful, and centered on real family life.

Ages 0–3

For infants, toddlers, and families in the early years

We support infants and young children who may be experiencing developmental delays or challenges in communication, play, social-emotional development, and early learning. During these critical years, our work focuses on building strong developmental foundations while helping parents feel confident and supported in everyday routines and interactions.

Ages 3–18

For children, teens, and families needing emotional and behavioral support

We also support children, adolescents, and families who may be navigating challenges related to anxiety, self-esteem, peer relationships, life transitions, emotional regulation, or behavioral concerns. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where children and teens can express themselves, strengthen coping skills, and grow in confidence while families receive guidance along the way.

Why Families Trust Us

Care that feels thoughtful, personal, and deeply supportive

Families trust Early Intervention Play because our care combines professional knowledge, personalized attention, and genuine compassion. Guided by Lucy’s experience and standards of care, we focus on helping families feel heard, understood, and empowered.

A

We listen first

We take time to understand each child’s unique needs, personality, and family dynamic before recommending support.

B

Support is personalized

No two children or families are the same. Our approach is tailored so care feels meaningful, practical, and aligned with real-life needs.

C

Guidance is practical

Families receive tools and strategies they can actually use at home, in routines, and in everyday moments that matter most.

D

Families feel supported

Our goal is not only to support the child’s growth, but also to help parents feel more confident, connected, and capable throughout the process.

Our Team

A practice guided by Lucy’s vision and supported by a caring team

Early Intervention Play is more than one person. While Lucy’s experience, philosophy, and leadership shape the heart of the practice, families may also be supported by team members who share the same commitment to warm, respectful, family-centered care.

Every member of our team is aligned with the values that define Early Intervention Play: developmental support that feels compassionate, relationship-based care that honors each child, and guidance that helps families feel more confident in daily life.
